My most common argument usually revolves around how innately crap our entire species is.

But here is a counterpoint.
(Although it will not seem like it at first).

There is a super lovely peaceful race,
But the humans are shit bags!

In “Avatar”
There are some lovely big blue aliens.
BUT again, the human is acting like their predictable shit bag selves!

ET
Yet again,
Nice Aliens.
Deeply crappy self-serving humans.

There are a load of examples of sci-fi and fantasy writers holding an “Ugly mirror of truth” to our whole species, doing their due diligence by warning us about who we are!

Not much of a count point so far! Does it?

But here is the counterpoint I promised.

Those same writers,

Those talented writers that showed us our rancid souls,

Those mere flawed human minds,

Dreamed and created the,

They created

ET!

They all created these lovely idyllic fictional races to populate their world and make their stories.

A mere flawed, shitty like all the rest of us, mere human mind thought of all these!

And if we can dream it.

Then we can all become it!

If we can imagine such a race, society or alien philosophy,

Then we must also have the potential, somewhere deep, deep down, to become such a wonderful thing!
