GEEK ATTACK!
OMG!
.
GEEK ATTACK!
OMG!
THAT ACTOR IS TERRIBLE AND HAS RUINED MY FILM FRANCHISE!
.
.
There seems to be a fashion in all Fan Films to blame a single front cog each and every time,
Instead of the entire clockwork machine!
.
Any actor (even the star) Is only a small part of a huge production process.
.
A Director chooses the shots,
.
The Editor chooses how those shot are seen,
.
A writer put the words in the Actors mouth.
.

Do not forget the Art Director!
.
(The list goes on and on.....)
.
If you happen to dislike a character portrayal in any film,
.
Do not put sole blame on any one actor!
.
If you feel the need to blame anyone then blame the "Head of Production" (Not the Director) Because he puts the initial packed and actor/writer/director package together!
.
You can also have and fantastic performance that is ruined and made to look shit by bad editing, (and vice versa).

The actor almost never has free reign on how to portray their character,
They are supposed to portray the character as told to by the Director.
.
Obviously, just as good actor can only do so much with a bad script.
.
It is also true that a good Director can only do so much with a bad actor.
.
And a good editor can only do so much with a bad set of rushes (Raw footage)
.
Sometimes it can be a little foggy and unclear as to the where the weakest link was and where the chain was broken.
.
Which is why I feel at the end of the day you have to place any final blame on the Head of Production because he chose the team and put them together!
.
"If" the actor is that bad,
Then you should ask why the Head of Production green-lighted that choice out of all the potentials that read for the part?
.
Because his decision went on to lower the quality of the entire film and taring all the other staff members professional reputations in
the process....
.
.
Do not blame a single COG for a watchmaker's shoddy work!
.
.
Instead,
Blame the Clockmaker!
.
.
PS
.
Also, bear in mind that a Film is an Art Form,
And
That all Art is Subjective.
.
You might not perceive the simple “Colour Purple” quite the same way another human brain does.
.
No two people really see the same colour!
.
Let alone experience an entire film crammed with thousands of colours sounds and pictures!
.
No two people really ever see the Movie!
.

the process....
.
After all, what else is a bad actor going to do if offered a lucrative part?
Turn down a well-paying role?
