That is why the Media has created the Jock vs Nerd dialogue since the mid-1940s!

So even working-class children who have great potential for advanced learning are put off the idea because it is “Un-cool”

(They get tricked into believing that courting ignorance is the way to rebel rather than it being the exact opposite!)

If you reduce your people's ability or will to gain the knowledge then you also limit their ability to gain any of that power!
