are now abandoning the teaching of traditional R. E.
in favour of a new subject R. V. E.

This is my replacement, alternative idea!

Instead of schools being allowed to teach
R. E.
(Religious Education)
At all!

Or instead, 
just merely rebranding R. E. as R. V. E.
(Religious, Values and Ethics)
but it essentially staying exactly the very same subject as R. E.

May I suggest a genuinely different subject altogether?
