BEFORE I START!

Things this argument is NOT arguing in favour of,

1)

Free love (60’s style).

2)

Open marriages.

3)

Promiscuity.

It would seem at first to be a tired overused argument in favour of these things, But it is not.
.
It will take me awhile to eventually get to the point of this “Vision” and I have to go through the things they are NOT about before I can get to the “New” idea.

Further note: I say “New” in the bracket because someone, somewhere MUST have already thought of this. I just do not know who or what this idea is already called.

For now, let us temporarily name it “De-Egoed Sex”.

THE BASICS.

Imagin a world where you can casually offer the person next to you a piece of gum.
.
In this world they more often as not, may turn round and simply say “No thank you I do not like gum” or “I do not like that flavour of gum,” and you both get on with your lives, neither of you affected at all by the encounter.

You do not feel bad because your gum has been rejected.
.
They never felt pressured or threatened by the offer of gum.
.
Because it is only gum.
.
There is no attachment of ego to a piece of gum.

OR
.
Imagin a world where you can casually offer the person next to you, Sex.

In this world they more often as not, may turn round and simply say “No thank you I do not like sex” Or “No thank you, you are not my type,” and you both get on with your lives, neither of you affected at all by the encounter.

Because it is only sex.

This idea only seems weird because of the self-identity, and ego we all attach to sex.

The problem with the free love movement is that a lot of people did stuff they were not really comfortable with to prove how cool they were.

They got caught in the ego baited “cool trap” of having to show how “Anti-establishment” they were by having sexual encounters they did not actually want.

They were not really sexually liberated, they just swapped one pair of mind chains for another, then deluded themselves that they were now free!

Are you arguing in favour of promiscuity?

Perhaps even the opposite of promiscuity.

In a world where the ego component was removed from sex,

1)

There would be no self-doubt or shame because of a “Dry spell” or “Because you are a still a Virgin”.

2)

There would be no young men out there having sexual encounters they deep in their hearts they do not really want, to increase their personal score! (I have been that young man!) And no women refusing sex they want because of fear of Slut Shaming.

3)

The reduced pressure to have sex or be sexual, if genuine (rather than just another version of the 1960’s “cool trap” as mentioned above,) would probably mean allot less promiscuity and sex.

Are you talking about the “open marriages”
and the death of Romance and True love?

No.

Committing to one person for life Is a beautiful ideal.

But everyone has moments of weakness and stupidity.
.
I suspect there are allot more one night stands and illicit encounters than society admits.

And many marriages are destroyed because of a bruised ego, demand they end the relationship when it should still work.

And allot of moments of weakness are ceased on by a partner that was desperately looking for an excuse to end things and was secretly relieved to be able to “play the victim” and divorce!

(Old tactic people rarely acknowledge exists: Deny your partner any physical affection until they commit adultery. Then you have a guilt-free pass to end the relationship!)

(It is the romantic equivalent of “Creative Dismissal” in a work environment.)

There would be no Toxic Masculinity or Gold Star Lesbians. Because people would not care who or how many you slept with.

I do not mean the overexercised false urbane version of not caring to all pretend to exercise now,

I mean REALLY NOT CARE!

If I turned to someone in conversation now and said,

“You, know when I was younger I experimented with cherry flavoured gum!”

Or

“Dude, I ate Sooo much Gum when I was younger!”

It would seem like a very dull topic of conversation!

I mean THAT level, of actual, “Not Care”!

In this imaginary World

There would be no sexual harassment.

There would be no sexual predatory culture because there is no Ego or Proof Of Exercised Power to be gained.

Because there would be no Ego attached to sex.

A narcissist would have to find some other way to get their Ego tank re-filled.

There will be no more Rape fantasies.
.
No Ego attached to sex means no Power attached to sex either!

THE BAD

Nothing is perfect.

There are some serious downsides to this!

The death of fetishes!

No more finding stockings, tight t-shirts, or short hemlines sexy!

No more of finding much of anything sexy.
.
No more sexual fantasies!

No Sub or Doms!
.
No more romantic seductions and an eventual giving into your desires. (I will miss this one the most!)

No more icons of sexual desire and attractiveness.

THE UGLY.

No more Gay straight or Bi people.

No one goes around or has parades for “Cherry Gum Pride”

BUT ALSO,

No one follows a person home with a group of drunk friends to beat the crap or kill someone for “liking Blueberry flavoured gum”!

No porn.
.
Possibly no more fashion or at least it having to become a radically different sort of fashion scene.

Most certainly the cosmetic and beauty industry would take a significant hit or even wilt and die altogether.

“The Attachment of Ego to sex and sexuality is the cause of All the problems!”

If I have successfully found the real problem, I now invite the rest of the world to provide all the solutions!
